This is why World Wrestling WWE is dead!!!!!!

It may be big business, it is not a sport, however.

And hasn't proclaimed itself to be, either.

The performers are indeed athletes, they simply aren't "competing" for anything. And almost all of them for far less money than they deserve, given the punishment their bodies take over the years.

It's a silly men's soap opera, that's all. I like how another poster described it, ballet with more violence. Quite accurate.

You are correct it is a Soap Opera with Story Line, a Cast of Characters who change from Good to Evil, to Good to go with the Story line, and Gymnastics.

Many WWE, WWF, TNA Wrestling stars do Body Punishing that at Careers End leave many of the Stars of the Wresting World Crippled for life.

Because they want to push the limits of what they could do, or endureto entertain their fans!

I remember Freddie Blassey a little - i think he was wit the NWA?

Rowdy Roddy Piper, Paul "Mr. Wonderful" Orndorff, the Iron Sheik,
the von Eriks, Don the Rock, Hulk Hogan, and of course, Ric Flair -
they were the first ones I came to know first via watching.

My first favorite finishing move of the day - the Pile Driver -
executed by Paul Orndorff - HA!

Mr. McMahon is indeed a genius! And I kid you not!

I have been watch Wrestling since I was a small child in Florida, I remember Gorgeous George parading into the Ring and throwing his GOLD BOBBY Pins to the fans, the Great Freddie Blassey who was always the BAD Guy calling everyone a Penciled Neck GEEK!

In LA we had Pro Wrestling, and I remember Dick "WHOA NELLIE" Lane the Announcer who was always getting beat up by some wrestler for asking tough embarrassing questions.

Pro Wrestling is now big business thanks to the GENIUS of Vincent Kennedy McMahon, and the WWE, who have brought big name advertiser to support the WWE, like Auto Zone , etc., thanks to a the loyal Fan Base the WWE has.

Also the WWE does a lot of good, like entertaining our Armed Forces overseas, and making many "LAST WISHES" come true for kids with terminal illnesses through a partnership with the Make A Wish Foundation.
