I was looking about the internet and was looking for some good cue shaft cleaing method's when I stumbled upon this very thread from one of our own here a few years ago. The method works like a charm and makes the shafts look like brand new. I followed directions except I dampend the Mr clean pad with 91 percent Alcohol instead of water , The parchment paper at the end really brings a nice slick sheen to the shaft . I highly recommend following this method if you want to clean your shaft back to new.
