With the handicaps the way they are, if you win this tournament you will need some luck to go along with good playing.
Thanks,

Well, a good handicap would help too but Doc Tripp gives out those handicaps like he was trying to make the field a balanced field.
I lose my very first match playing like a putz and even though my opponent played like a putz too, I couldn't get in gear. I was so hot I could barely stand it and managed to win a few matches and come in the money. I think it was 7-8 place which paid $260. Zero for the Calcutta as they only paid through 6 th place.
The tournament was a great success, thanks to Doc Tripp, Matt who brought in the equipment to live stream the matches and make the video DVD for all of the matches that were taped.
I bought the DVD with me playing so badly that I heard that people were whining that Jerome Gambino and I play TERRIBLE. We both played terrible that match. I guess those people who were doing all of the pissing and moaning never had a match that they played poorly in.
It was great seeing and meeting other AZBers again. Lou Figueroa, InDeclouds (Wins the tournament), Sceneario (second place), the helicopter pilots, Lil Bubba and Bille were there, Doc Tripp of course, MattL,
JrHendy (I forget what place John came in but the guy was in action everytime you turned around, Chicago Mike (9-12th). Sorry if I forgot anyone. I'm tired from a long but satisfying weekend filled with unpleasant losses and great victories but a great meeting of kindred spirits.
Sorry if I left out any names and I know there were other AZBers there but I am just tired......
These WEEKEND One Pocket Tournaments are the way to go. I swear there wasn't an unkind word spoken during the whole tournament and everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy the tournament even if they didn't make it into the DEEP money payouts. There was about 9,000 dollars in the tournament including Calcutta.
There was some action. Oh, by the way, did I tell you that John Henry beat me out of two games. I guess I need some weight next time.
Buffalo Billiards owner is considering having one of these tournaments in Metairie, LA in the future and most who were asked said they would attend.
