I actually haven't been able to stop thinking about how to escape from this all day. I really think Selby is taking the best option - the most reliable, and workable route (as in, he can gauge what goes wrong and repeat with ease - much more difficult with massé or trying to work any other angle)

in impossible cases the ref could call it just "foul" and not "foul and a miss". still a foul and 4 points penalty, but opponent can't ask for it to be put back.
