This may be a new trend for the AzBilliards Discussion Forum. Though they have ALWAYS been there, they seem to have gone unnoticed by many. Now that it is brought to everyone's attention, more people will be adding stars. More threads will now have stars by them.
Same with the rep system. It wasn't used that much until a couple years ago, though it was always here on the forum. A couple years ago, when repping became the forum trend, people were repping left and right in the NPR section. If you needed green rep, hang out in the NPR and you were sure to come away with 10 and 12 new green reps every single day.
Today we also have these cool new smiles or "emoticons" on the right. I notice that people are enjoying them! :smiling-heart:

I know when I first joined this forum, I never knew rep existed, had no idea there was any rep, never gave out any rep and never checked to see if I received any rep.
Now that you bring it up, I do think you are right in that there was no rep capability at that time.
I wonder when they added it to the forum! :shrug:

Purdman, RudeDog, Hal, and Eydie were also there right behind her. Those who hung out on NPR got all the GREEN rep and achieved the highest standing in the old days. At that time, I was more of a Main Forum kind of gal.
I never knew about the point system, though, until last year. I didn't even know how to look up the points before. I had hoped for a long time to get those 11 green dots, so that I could enjoy having a "reputation beyond repute"! LOL! In fact, I think I finally got my 11 during the IPT tour when I was posting on the road, but many, many, many more members got their 11 green dots before moi! :yeah:
Again, what is interesting to note today, in comparison to a few years ago when this whole rep started, is the point system. The more GOOD rep you have, the more points the rep is that you dole out.
I was told a few weeks ago that the GOOD rep I give out is worth 300-plus points. Whereas, a newbie or one who does not have a lot of green dots, their GOOD rep may be worth 50 or 100 points.
DoubleA, I can't give out any more rep today, but tomorrow, you got a GOOD rep coming from me, as I learned something from this thread too! :tongue:

ETA: DoubleA, if you place the cursor over the GREEN dots underneath your name, you will see that you are "just really very nice."
Today, because of so many people having 11 green dots and a lot of points since the INCEPTION of the rep system, one can get the 11 green dots or a "reputation beyond repute" much faster than they could when this system was first introduced to this forum because many members today have 11 green dots, and their GOOD rep is worth a whole lot more than when this rep system was first started.

When you get ready to post, to the RIGHT of the MESSAGE window, there's 15 emoticons or smiley faces. Underneath them, there is a link that says "More." Click "More," and you will discover quite a few emoticons.

I am technologically challenged I guess. I see Icons underneath but no "more" button. I don't have paid subscription maybe that is why. Thanks anywho.

I feel so lame....
I changed the skins, that should not matter. All I see is a newspaper, smileys, !, thumb up & down and NO icon. no "more" button. I'll ask my techy later. Thanks.JAM said:

When you get ready to post and are writing in the MESSAGE window, to the very right of the MESSAGE window, as you are actually writing yoru post, you should see the emoticons, all 15 of them. UNDERNEATH the 15 emoticons is a [More] link. That is where you will see all the emoticons.
