Threads in the back on a Predator P2

Friends, I have a customer which want me to make some custom extension kit
for his cue and I need your help:

The but has a plastic insert which the rubber bumper is attached to. Since the cue
is not in my hands and the owner say that the threads is damaged, I'm not able
to a) get my hands on it before I should do the work, b) most likely not measure
the threads since they are damaged.

So to prepare, I'm trying to find a tap if possible and also check if my lathe can
do the threads sine it's designed to do metric and not imperial.

Any help would be appreciated.

My P2 takes 3/8" x 16 tpi weight bolts. The rubber bumper is a pressure fit (not threaded).

Thanks for the feedback.

I think the cue has a plastic sleeve inside which is threaded. However I might have a look at a friends cue tomorrow and in case I would shoot some pics.
