Three questions???

I have three questions that are pretty short, but I'm sure the answers will not be.....

1) I am looking to take some lessons in the New York City area. Manhatten, Brooklyn, etc. I need to get to the next level and am willing to change my way of playing if needed. I play pretty well in the Leagues and want to play in bigger tournaments, so who is the best instructors in these areas and any info to how I can contact them?

2) I just recently won a new cue (thank you AZ Billiards raffles!) and will be purchasing a G-Core shaft to fit. Should I wait to get this shaft and get a feel for the cue before I take the lessons?

3) It may be on here someplace, but I can't seem to find it so I will apologize now if it is indeed here. Why isn't there a sticky with an index for instructors with info of how to contact and their location like there is for the table mechanics in the mechanics section?

Here's a link to all BCA instructors. You can set your own search parameters, so if you put in the state, you will get all the instructors in that state, with contact information. You can do separate searches, if you wanted to check neighboring states.

If you're in NYC, Ron Vitello is highly recommended. Whenever I get lessons, I drive about 200 miles each way to downtown NYC to get lessons from this guy.

I've seen him about 5x for lessons and he's helped my game GREATLY.

Personally, I don't think it really matters much either way. You are going to go through an adjustment period with the new shaft whenever you get it. Your lessons are to give you knowledge that you will be applying to your game for many years to come. Lessons are not going to change anything in your game overnight, except perhaps how you approach the game.
