Thumbs up to JB Cases order process

Considering damn near half the people I have seen at the Expo had a JB, it's a glaring endorsement. I was already thinking about ordering one before I went. After the first day I was sold.

Based on that logic, Honda Civics are better cars than Porsche 911s.

But that is mostly based on price and practicality. In some ways, Civics ARE better cars than 911s, cheaper to own, cheaper to operate, can hold more stuff, you don't pay $2,000 for change the tires or 4 times the insurance cost, you don't need to worry about some jealous a-hole keying the car, etc...

Since there are plenty of cases in the same price range as the JB cases, and many cheaper ones, that does show that people prefer them to most other brands.

You're speaking in extremes. Let's do some comparisons based on value:

If I were to equate a honda civic to a pool cue case, I would probably think of it as the low end production case. Something like a 2x2 porper. It's cheap. Looks ok. Will work. While the Porsche 911 (considering this is your version of a high end car, we can leave lambos and bugattis out of this) would be more like the High end Justis Case. Eye catching, very functional, but unnecessary.

With that being said, I would put JB cases somewhere around the middle/upper middle (for their everyday case, while John can crank out some real nice custom stuff as well). I would hate to give it a vehicle comparison as there is surely someone out there that would say "XXXXX vehicles suck" but if I were force to I think it would be something like the average BMW.

inb4 "BMWs suck because..."

Plus its a pool cue case, not a ****ing car.

With all that being said, I understand you are bias. I'm sorry you have had a bad experience with the company/product/whatever.

There are a few of us that have given him some criticism regarding his cases. His customer service policy is to call us idiots, and fire us as customers. Outstanding business model.

Oh get the story story straight.

First of all NO ONE has been called an idiot for LEGITIMATE criticism of our cases. NO ONE.

Secondly you have been a major troll to me on a variety of topics over the years and when you decided you wanted to purchase a case you were then suddenly extremely nice and I was cordial and professional in return. You purchased the case on October 15th, 2015 and said you were very happy with it after you received it.

THEN, after owning the case for over 18 months I think, earlier this year you started trolling me again about the match with Lou and after I shot down your nonsense you started in with a bunch of UNTRUE bs about our cases claiming that yours was harmful to your cues. Until that moment you had not communicated even one issue about the case privately or publicly.

So you are someone I find to be inherently dishonest in my opinion based on your behavior and whom I clearly would never sell another case to.

Don't try to project your earned experience onto our other customers. We screw up from time to time but we handle hundreds of customers a year with most having no problems. We go above and beyond ,often losing any profit and often actually taking a significant loss, to make it right when we screw up. Sometimes we do pushback against unreasonable demands and against unreasonable customers. Sorry but the customer is NOT always right and if I feel that our staff is being abused then I will "fire" a customer and sometimes NOT acquiesce to their unreasonable demands of excessive reparation.

He didn't have a bad experience with the case or the company. He asked questions and got the case he bought and said he was happy with it.

Only after he got slapped down on the forum did he "suddenly" find out that the case he bought and had been happy with for over a year did bad things to his cues.......

Yeah, they are. For the context of every day reliable use at a price point that is affordable Honda Civics are BETTER than Porsches.

That's the point of noticing what people are using and looking into that product to see why they are using it. And if the reason happens to be better VALUE for the money then it's clear why there are more Civics on the road than Porsches.

Just because a car can go faster or has an exotic name or high price tag doesn't make it a better car.

I want to buy a Porsche someday because I like the way they look not because I like the practicality of them. For my needs my Dodge Caravan has been a way better car than my friend's 911. My Caravan is also better than my other friends Cayenne and no one wants to steal my van.

That said the luxury of the Cayenne is light years above the Caravan. But "better" is a contextual topic as well as an objective one.

And....since you love to be corrected and can't stay on topic and have a proclivity for embellishment... here is some reading for you about both Porsche quality and customer service.

I'll leave some honest feedback since I recently bought one of their cases as well. I ordered mine back on March 3rd, was called the next day and the order was gone over with me to make sure everything I put in the website was what I wanted. 10 days later I received the case. I ordered a 4x8 ultimate rugged, black with army green stitching, piping and interior. Everything was correct except the interior was hunter green, not army green, which to me looked awful, so I emailed them and they responded very quickly to let me know that the mixup is that they don't actually have army green interior and it is a mistake that it's listed on the website. However, they just offered to make me a new interior in the color of my choice, which I thought was awesome. I chose black and a new interior arrived less than a week later.

Their product, obviously, is top notch. IMO there is no better made case on the market. The quality and craftsmanship is just simply unbeatable.

My only complaint about the whole process:

I'm still waiting on a new lid interior. That's still hunter green. No big deal, I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

Literally, that's the only complaint I have. I never received any "in-progress" pictures or communications, but I didn't expect any. And really, I received the case so fast that any communication wasn't really needed at all. I could see on custom cases, but other than that, I don't see any reason. In my case it would have made it possible for me to catch the interior color mismatch before I received it, but they bent over backwards to make that right as soon as I emailed them.

Great product, great service. I won't ever buy any other brand of case.

Matthew said he spoke to you this morning and your lid has come in.

John has there been any additional progress on the soft "tube" interior we had discussed a few months ago that does not have any of the components directly sliding next to each other and uses additional fabric in between to keep them all separate?

yes and no. Yes thought about it, played with a few things, no not done any substantial change yet.

Thanks, point made far better than I could have.

That's true about Amazon.......but they aren't making the product you order and have zero responsibility
for any complaints with the actual 3rd party sellers/suppliers providing the product that you order. That's
why people are the biggest asset for any firm that's tends to be invisible on the company's balance sheet.

Recognizing there' s a problem is the first step towards solving it and it sounds like John has done this.
His cases look terrific; I've never heard anyone complain whenever I encounter someone with a JB case.
The only feedback I get is they love the product, it's well made and and have no regrets or misgivings.

Thank you.

Here's the email I just received from JB. This was sent to my personal email address. The address I used for business with him a few years ago:

Shawn, you're never going to "get me" with any of the vectors you try. Sure there are always going to be a few people who agree with you the same as there are people who believe Hitler was a saint. There are always a few people in the John Barton is an asshole crowd who will send you love notes congratulating you on saying what "needs to be said".

But what you don't understand is that all you do is provide me with more legitimate opportunity to talk about our cases. And talk and talk and talk and talk...and post pictures and links and videos...and get more content into Google's database which pumps up my business. The more you attempt to put me down and harm us the more you actually help us.

And I appreciate that. I mean I don't like the way you go about it and the falsehoods you put out there but I certainly applaud your tenacity and the continued opportunities to respond and let people see our work and follow our links and find out for themselves if JB is such a bad guy as you try to make me out to be.

So by all means keep it up. I am glad you seem to have made me your personal project. If you need it I can point to you towards the "jb is a dick" support group.

Best,

John

John, please keep any and all communication regarding this board, on this board. Getting emails from you is harassment. Plain and simple.

Isn't that a little over dramatic Shawn? Whatever the beef between you guys its pretty simple to put a filter in to auto delete anything from a particular sender.

I'm not the one taking a conversation from an online discussion board to someone's personal email address, let alone one they don't have permission to use.

Sorry, that crosses the creepy line. It's called stalking.

Nah, it's just an email. Ignore it, go shoot some pool.

Just an FYI. We are only 3 people in the shop who handle customer service. Only two of those people actually handle the order process. And we have well over 80 custom orders in the pipeline every day.

Why not hire 5 or 6 more people.
That way people can spend some time on the phone with these folks without feeling rushed.
Right now it's impossible to do anything on the website.
It doesn't even include butterfly cases....or none that I could see.

I don't have an email distribution list. You are not being harassed. I sent you a thank you note for your efforts. And again thank you for the all the stalking and trolling over the years as you continue to give me the opportunity to respond.

I don't need your permission to send you an email just as you have never needed permission to lie about me and my products on public forums.

Interesting that you feel "hurt" over getting an email but seem to feel ok with outright lying about me and attempting to harm our business which if it had any chance to succeed would harm the income of many families. See I understand that you think I am a jerk and you're rubbed the wrong way by things I say but I can't understand trying to do things to hurt those who work for me by impugning the way the business is structured, lying about the way the case works, and lying about how we treat our customers.

Don't worry though I won't send you any more email, I just thought you should know how much I appreciate the effort on your part. Causing you trauma and deep emotional pain wasn't my intention. I hope you can heal someday.

:-)
