Tiger cues

I've seen one at the local hall. Anyone have a tiger cue. What's their quality like? I noticed they just released a plain jane series for 500$ and they have a new butterfly style line of cues

Tiger, Joss, McDermott, Jacoby, all at about same level. I like the Tiger shafts better than many others. They have a nice feel combined with a bit of stiffness, a bit like the OB Pro shafts, kinda like a hybrid between the Predator Z and the 314 also.

Got a link for the butterfly cues?

Oh I seen on the webpage lol, those look like willy blade blanks or the other maker from the Ukraine that does the same style

I have a few of their shafts and one of their cues, TH-1 I think, a somewhat sneaky.
Good quality both the shafts and cue. I'd agree with hang-the-9 on the hit.

They make hi-quality stuff. AFAIK its a 1-2man shop in Calif.
Pretty big shop for 1-2 men.

wasn't always that big. they don't have a big crew.

Tiger makes great products. I have a TL-2 wich came with their LD shaft. I really liked that shaft when I was still playing with wood shafts. I preferred it to the Predator 314-2 I was using at the time and the various OB shafts I also owned. This past year I have upgraded to the Tiger Fortis CF shaft. It’s amazing. Hands down the best CF shaft I have used. I prefer it to any of my 3 12.9 Revos or the various Cuetec’s, Meucci, and Mezz CF shafts that I have tried. Their manufacturing facility is very nice and Tony and the crew are super friendly and super knowledgeable. Everything about them is top notch.

That's Daniel Busch in that pic. He owns/runs POV Pool. Good guy. I didn't think they had many workers, 5 sounds about right.
Yup. I know Daniel quite well and have taken my cue over to Tony several times for a new tip as none of the cue makers local to me deal in Tiger tips. I also used to spar with one of their previously sponsored players, Corey Harper, quite frequently back when he was actively playing. I got the grand tour on one of my visits. It's a pretty impressive operation and from my recollection, 5-10 employees sounds about right.

Did you know Phil Knight? Passed away bout a year ago. He was a regular at h'times and played Daniel some. Phil used to come see friends in Tulsa quite a bit. Cool guy. Phil's the guy i refer to in the Danny Harriman tales. Phil took him on the road and needed therapy when they got back.

I don't know Phil. I stopped going to Hard Times regularly in the early 2000's. I couldn't fade them not running the AC.

I remember playing in an American Rotation event there, looking at the thermostat and it reading 85°. I broke my cue down and left, never to return.
did it work bad or were they just that cheap?? that's nuts.

I won a straight pool tournament on the base in Chu Lai,South Viet Nam in 1968.
We played on 2 tables with only a roof and no walls on the beach near the South China Sea.
It was near a 100 degrees with brutal humidity.
We played for one day and was not interrupted by incoming mortars or rockets.
Try those conditions.
