Time for a LD shaft but not sure which one

I agree, I really like the feel of the cue and not changing the butt as it looks pretty good too. Only tried two other cues from friends but both were low end cues so can't tell if a Predator or Mezz would feel different. In any case I think a LD shaft would benefit me. I will try to follow the advice and find someone who sells these shafts and perhaps can try before I buy.
IMO, predator and Mezz hit very differently. I ended up with a Mezz(Exceed) w/ a wx900. I wouldn't call my player 'low end' but that's totally subjective anyway.

I cut my LD teeth on the original 314 and then transitioned to the Z2. Played with that on a old school Falcon butt for a couple of decades, before moving to the Exceed.

I ended up getting the wx900 turned down to 11.5mm, to more closely match what my Z2 had become over the years. Those two shafts have now become nearly interchangeable.

The only CF shaft I've played with that I might consider buying is the 10.5mm Cynergy. All others have way more deflection then I'm a fan of. Frankly, other than the durability, CF is all hype.

So before you drop buck of the latest, greatest, CF shaft. I assume you a 150 ball straight pool runner, and your looking to get to 200 balls in hurry.😢

IMHO if your not at the point of topping out with your current Cue playing SHORT STOP SPEED.

Dave your money, learn to get the most out of what you are playing with.

Do not buy, hype, bs, and pro product endorsements. From Pros, or Instructors who are paid spokesmen. Well jump to next boat if 💵 is better, or more freebees.

I would highly recommend looking into the Mezz EC9, MSP2, or CP21 series. These are priced on the low end but you can pair several different shafts. Mezzusa is a good place to look. For me personally my CF revo rarely gets played with it's dead feeling and doesn't have that snappy crisp hit of my mezz sigma wood shaft. I have noticed a lot of the pro's are even switching back. Too each their own though. Good luck on the hunt.
