How long do you guys think it would take to play an 8 man double elim 10 ball tourney, race to 9 using the quantity of one (1) 9 foot diamond pool table? Thanks.

13-14 matches at an average of 1-1.5 hours a match equals somewhere around 13-20 hours. So I would guess you could get it done over a Saturday and Sunday.

Depends on the players. Max 15 sets times say 90 min to 2 hours per set gets you 23 to 30 hours. So say 2 to 3 days of play.

Runout players, about 9 hours id guess, based on 14 matches at 40 min each.

This was about my optimistic assumption (fastest I thought it could go). I think I'll have to shorten the races.

Now I'm thinking about 2 concurrently played tournaments, each double elim: 1 ten ball race to 5 or 6 and an 8 ball tourney (same race to 5 or six) on a 7 foot valley cougar. Do you guys think I could get this done from say, a start time of 2:30 and ending around midnight?

I'm basically trying to plan to use my basement as best as I can within the time the missus will allow...

Yeah, those sound pretty reasonable, assuming that the final few players aren't the same.

You could run a triple elimination tournament with shorter races.

I would start with the time to run the tournament and adjust the races to make it fit.
