Timeless Timber

Here's an ad for a McDermott cue made from wood supplied by "Timeless Timber". Wood from under water "Lake Superior."

I did a search and found nothing about Mcdermott making a cue from old wood, so I wonder if it is old wood to start with or just a cue with "TT" lasered in the butt, maybe Tommy Twotone owned it. :D :D

I did find where Josey sells shafts made from "Timeless Timber" wood.

I wonder how that plays?

If that is a Mcdermott, I wonder why they changed their buttcap bumper?
And left out the clover?

and don't they usually have a 3/8x10 joint and not a piloted quick release? Haven't brought any new ones in the last 6 years so maybe they offer this joint now.

Josey Timeless Timber!!!

I have one shaft made for my Josey out of the Timeless Timber. It has a very strong hit. It is very stiff and feels very different from standared maple. Mine has a ivory ferrule so I am sure that softens the hit, but I really like it.

Ivory ferrule softens the hit??? Me thinks you may be mistaken.

keith josey is one of the few cue makers who use timeless timber but there is a good reason and you've found it. it just plays unbelievable. it is pricy though.

George, Compare what you usually use as a ferrule material to Ivory
Ferrules and you should tell a difference. If you like the Hit of Ivory after
you try it, you probably like most people will stay with it. You can't tell untill you try and compare.

George,
Ivory definately provides a softer hit. FYI.
I've never used a cue with an Ivory ferrule for more than a few test hits. I was under the impression Ivory gave a harder hit......seems I am mistaken  Well, it's not the first time and most likely won't be the last :o Thanks for setting me straight :D
