I psottsd this on another thread then realized maybe it should stand alone!

Tim told me personally when he would raise his prices then he did. He was planning to retire long before his health problems. He is well off and knows his health is his only concern. So believe me, soon his cues will only be gotten on the secondary market period. Though it is true Mike has made all the blanks since 1984. When he starts buildinging his cues exclusively so many of us that know his work expect those cues to cost even more than Tim's cues do know. I can't foresee Mike doing anything on the cheap. Not even for me sob sob. They are both friends and I am telling you what I know buyem and hold on to them and also the newer they are the better they play almost every time. And the old one played great! HEAR ME NOW AND BELIEVE ME LATER Nick

tim's cues

i am just waiting for a(unnamed) player to show up gain
at randolph's with the TS cue he offered me a while back.
i will be a little quicker on the draw this time, hopefully.

I agree Tim makes a good cue, but he made alot of cues for a custom cue maker over the years. My opinion is they will go up but not much.

ditto...

as for how many being a main factor in value....how does that work with southwest then? when southwests are all pretty much the same design...timmy and mike have made all kinds of differently influenced/designed cues for all levels of players/collectors and more moderately priced for the quality. i am sick of seeing new/recently made southwests that arent close to straight (ya i know, parabolic taper, that doesnt mean it cant be straight)...and some sucky shafts too!

and i am not picking on southwest...just saying for the money, past, present or future...gimme a scruggs!

and i dont think mike and timmy would make in 3 years (or more) as many southwests that are pumped out in one year....just a thought in my opinion.
