Removing butt finish chips from an older ivory substitute butt cap on a Mcdermott D-10. Trying to save the Shamrock logo so the original yellowed finish has to stay on the top half of the butt cap. What can be added to the CA refinish to get the clear to match the old yellowed look? The refinish area is much whiter with the old finish cleaned off with 2000 grit paper and buffing compound down to the butt cap material. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or solutions anyone cares to share with an 82 year old qsmith that learns somthing new every day. Mr Ken Ken Quarters qsmith, Q-Spot Billiards,Tulsa. You can still sand over the insignia removing the old finish but just be careful while doing it. The insignia is engraved and filled so just don't go to deeply and it won't harm it. I've done many of them over the years with no problems.
