Tip choice

I want to purchase some tips for a couple cue that I own.

I have a predator Z 1st gen shaft with the orginal everest tip. It is a good tip first few weeks then you have to sand it often for it to work like it used to at first.
Can anyone make a suggestion. Maybe moori or sniper tip.

Also I have a Lucasi L2000 jump/break cue. The tip on it I don't like much. I believe it is a triangle tip. How is the white diamond? Or any other suggestions.

I am going to have the owner at my local pool hall install them. He does it for only $7 using his tips, but the ones he uses are not all that great.

I have played with a Moori for about 3 years and just recently tried a sniper. I think either way you'll be pleased. The sniper is harder than a moori med but you can still get some spin on the cue ball. Hope this helps.

Sniper or Moori. Both are good tips. You will be happy with either but I think you will have to try both to find out what YOU like. The white diamond tip is a great tip. I have one on my break cue and my jump cue. Yet again, do some experimenting to find out what you like. Personally I would go with the Sniper and the WD. JMHO

first off, the first generation Z shafts only came with Lepro or option to Upgrade to Moori. it wasn't until second generation they came stock with everest. http://www.predatorcues.com/predator_cues_shaft_evolution.html

i belive lucasi come with Lepro as well, though i don't think you can go wrong with everest, sniper or moori, though moori is the only one that comes in other hardnesses where everest is a medium hard and sniper is a medium.

in regards to the white diamond, it is a very hard tip made of a phonelic linen. i use em on my break and jump cues and i like it. it holds chalk much better than the npormal phonelic tips and i miscue less.

edit: in regards to the hardness on sniper and everest, someone else might be able to clear it up. the tiger site lists the sniper as medium hard and the everest as medium, though muellers's lists the sniper at 66.9 and the everest at 75.1 on a scale from 1-100 with 1 being soft and 100 being hard, so you figure it out. shrug. fyi, triangle is 81.4 and Lepro is 78.2

Tip chart

Tip-comparison info I once assembled last year from numerous sources - you'll get a little perspective on many different tips.

Kamuibrand.com

kamui is what you need to know, They have all softness but still hard I have at least 10 shafts with kamui II's they are the newest go to kamuibrand and look at the movie clip and see 12 shots not possoble with any other tip ! The the next is Talisman bk hard . Don't forget to say thank you. You can shot soft with greater accuraccy because there is no snapping back to shape of the tip

Tips

kamui, moori and sniper are all nice tips and all of these tips require general maintenance/scuffing. Can?t go wrong with any of these tips, all are good quality.

A Predator Z shaft 1st generation, would have come with a LePro, not an Everest.

Everest by Tiger are the standard on the 2nd generation Predator shafts.

Hi there,
This is my first post on AZ. The reason why I stayed away from posting and pushing the Kamui Tips is I wanted proof from players that the tip does perform. So now I am tooting my own horn and asking all of you out there to ask me questions. Go to my site http://www.kamuitips.com and watch the slow-motion video and the other videos of how this tip grabs the ball and makes your shots perform. I am here to help.

On a similar theme but slightly different question, I'm interested in hearing what the forum's thoughts are on tips suitable for Massey's. Something really soft and grippy. I'm considering having a shaft specifically for Massey shots.

Mike Massey has been using Snipers for many years. Many of the other trick shot guys as well: Stefano Pelinga, Nick Nicolidis and so on.

Edit: Were you talking about masse shots? Same answer whether it was Mike Massey or masse shots.

"Massey" / "Masse" Shots, thanks for the correction. I am correct in assuming that these would be Soft Sniper's?

Sniper only comes in one hardness/softness. Whichever way you want to look at it.
