Tip diameter

Is there any appreciable difference between an 11.75mm vs a 12mm diameter shaft In terms on English and playability
I'm currently. Shooting with a Z2 but thinking of going to a 12 mm shaft?
Which one would play better?

Tip diameter has a lot to do with the size of your fingers! If you have large hands then a larger diameter is going to "probably" work better. It is going to give tighter control on your bridge. If that makes sense! I don't claim to be an expert just going on my 20 years of pool playing experience! Been playing pool since I was 19, I am now almost 42. I learned how to play pool the best way. Self taught and alot of watching and practice, practice, practice. Pool is not just a game it is a state of mind! If you miss a shot forget about it and focus on your next opportunity! Short term memory loss goes a long way in this game. Sorry to go off on a tangent!

This is all personal preference. I have shafts on cues that range from 12 to 13.2

I notice very little difference in playing with them in terms of the amount if English. I'd the two shafts have the same tip radius the contact patch will be the same. All of mine have a radius that matches a nickel coin.

A smaller diameter shaft may be lighter at the front end (depending on ferrule type) giving it lower squirt properties. A smaller diameter shaft can help you see the spot on the cb you need to hit.
