I've had my a 314-3 for several months and never warmed up to the Victory tip it came with. Can anyone tell me where the Victory is in terms of hardness? Trying to figure out if I'd like something softer or harder. If you have recommendations for something better for a 314 in particular, thanks in advance. This Victory is the first layered tip I've ever had--I was always a Le Pro guy.

First!

Pressed Triangle or Outsville Hard.

I am also a LePro guy. I have two 314- 2, with LePro tips, and they play great! LePro is my recommendation.

It's all preference but the guy that installs my tips says the tiger sniper is the best all around in his opinion and I have this tip on a couple shafts. No complaints. I hate hard tips and this plays like soft but actually holds up like a firm medium. Plenty of action. Minimal maintenance required. YMMV

I did cue repair for several years and would immediately put Sniper tips on all my Predator shafts. I super liked them. Its a softer hit.

Then I quit repair about 14 years ago, and just played with whatever tip shipped on the several Predator shafts I bought over the years. Funny in that I got used to them quickly since my lathe was no longer setup. ha ha.

I'm assuming it's the stock Medium tip. Lets start with the tips hit is the hit too hard or soft? Layered tips are good because of the consistency from tip to tip.

I'm using a Kamui Super Soft. It was the closest in Hardness to the Moori 3 slow tip i had on my old cue.

I went by the top 100 list on Amazon for tips, Kamui is the first "real" tip then Le Pro then Triangle.

Then i looked at the best sellers for tips on several "Billiards" site and they were always at the top. So if they are popular then they must be good. So what's $25 to me? Basically nothing. I bought one to try it out and liked the hit.

You'll end up getting a lot of suggestions, tips is a personal thing. If you like LePro, why not just continue with that? If you want a layered tip Zan and G2 is very popular amongst my customers.

Predator usually comes with the crappy Victory soft.

I just received my order from Dennis Searing. Those Precision tips are the best tips around, especially for ten bucks, what a bargain.
I have/had a few.. not sure if I gave them away (Tom). If I still have them they’re yours. They’re in Boynton.

Sniper. Once I found them, I quit looking -- one more of life's secrets solved. I cannot promise they are for you, but, since you are searching, I can definitely recommend them as worth trying.

I like G2 medium on almost every shaft. Carbon or wood.
Fantastic tips. No maintenance. No mushrooming.
