Tip Hardness and Cue weight question

If you have a medium tip and put it on a 19 ounce cue would it hity the same on a 191/2 ounce cue? Or for that matter a 18 ounce or lighter ??Help me solve a ongoing debate...Thx..

Good question, great answer.
Not really the same but perhaps related, I like harder tips for bar boxes with the heavy cue ball.
