Tip pads

Hi.........Tried to do a search for pad, or tip pad, but the search wouldn't take....that said, can anybody steer me to a past thread (if there's been any) discussing pros and cons/and the difference in hit, between having a pad under your tip or not....or if anyone wants to give me their opinion/info now, that would be great as well.

Unfortunate for you and unknowingly because the search function is temperamental that this subject has been hashed out a brazillion times.

Tip pads are installed on every one of my shafts regardless of ferrule type or tip type used. I guess that sez it all for me!
