Tip scuffing advice

New predator SP arrived today w/ Z2, everest tip.... I never purchased a new cue before, always just bought broken In ones. Also I never dealt with a laminate tip. Could I hear some arguments as to if and how people are prepping these, sandpaper? Recommended products? I'd like a bit softer hit with more "feedback" if possible..... I know.... predator learning curve, etc. Lots to adjust to. Not looking to Change the tip at this point, just some direction please

use sandpaper or if you have a willards shaper, shape the tip to a dime or nickle shape and give it a go. The only thing to remember with a laminated tip is not to heat the tip too much or it could come unglued.

I've tried all kinds of things including the new Kamui gator tool for layered tips. I'm back to using good old fashioned 80 grit sandpaper. Gives it a good scruff but is not too abrasive or takes too much off.
