C'mon it's science.I ain't getting in your van 'til you show me the candy. I ain't stupid.

Exactly, any time you form a piece of metal by bending or stamping from one shape (flat to spherical in this case) the difference between the final shape will be reached by stretching the surface thickness between the two shape at different rates. It is the elasticity in the metals that allow this. There is no way the 2 sides in this case could possibly be uniform to each other. The inner spherical radius on my stamped Willard is pretty darn close to a true nickel shape. If you want a better tool get the lastforever tip tool. For those(or at least one person anyway) skeptical of those willard's shapers they are stamped-out and the interior DOES have a a radiused shape even if the exterior view may look a tad cone-ish. got two myself and both are rounded inside-n-out. they work perfectly and the result is well shaped tip.
Actually I meant the cello bowing as contrast. It requires the whole arm and technically the rest of the body as well; and in real time with touch to the fraction of a decibel. The the forearm pool stroke only requires everything previous to it staying put.As hilarious as it is to picture PJ being lured into an unmarked panel van by the sight of candy, the mechanics actually aren't super difficult to teach in terms of feels and analogies. I've seen approaches by coaches that teach throws or free arm swings. Van driver up there suggested a handsaw or cello playing motion. Really anything where you are using the arms naturally as a whole will do. The idea is to tap the student into what they already do naturally in another sport/activity and get them to adapt the feels/structure from that to pool.
However, the biomechanics and physiological side as to how this works and why it can be superior in some ways would take many pages of writing and without some base knowledge (even more pages), most readers would be lost anyway. I've tried it, it's tough (but doable) lol.
But at least we have those analogies and feels to lean on to quickly get some kids in the van. Once in, we have time to school em proper. They only need to be smart enough to make sure they actually see the candy before getting in the van to understand.
