I do receive some inquirys by email. the $320 is estimate price by free shipping, I don't hold stock now just asked supplier to gave unit price under 5 sets, then calculate this price for reference only. it's interesting design & I'm thinking how to launch this new item into market. any suggestion?

Honestly.....I'd spend extra to get the one from Mueller's. The Willard has been around for a LONG time and is a very good design for anyone who doesn't own a lathe. I use it to cut mushrooms at the poolhall all the time.

I don't see myself spending money on a copy of the design. The things last forever and are a one time purchase. The value in being able to make a PHONECALL to someone if I have a problem is worth 100.00(AND MORE) to me. I've dealt with needing parts from China and it's a nightmare. Between the language barrier and shipping costs, it's a complete headache. It's a serious problem just getting the correct part the FIRST TIME.

The imitation ivory is OK, but overpriced IMO. I respect a person's right to make money and will probably buy more, but that is my thought. I think Elforyn is ridiculous as well...and phenolic...ect. I'll pay the price because I have to.

I think Shark Tank has become too popular and wish I could get those type of margins.......:-)

thanks for comments, Randy.

currently, I just have few items for sale ( taps, pins, arvorin), even though, it's not easy in process to launch if you have seen those thread I listed.

for those items, I don't hold big stock, so no discount from supplier. abt price, it's reasonable & competitive than local sourcing to compensate the shipping time, after-sale follow up as you said. just an alternative choice.

for new stuff, like arvorin & tip shaver, before launch to market, need check the stability & performance. for arvorin rod, it's OK & already handle in this way to sending samples to some ppl. but tip shaver, it's too expensive to send to several CMs. the only concern is the performance coz' it hasn't been proved. once it prove good, why not to get one in cheaper cost. for real buyer, they would like to see I think.

just think how to prove it from third party...

With respect, purchasing things from the other side of the planet as an end user is a nightmare. To your credit, you have been honorable. However, all dialogue is electronic and you are 15 hours ahead of us. Furthermore, getting resolution on ANY issue takes several days and sometimes WEEKS. I am speaking from experience here. All those potential headaches to save 100.00 bucks???? No thank you.

The Willard is a quality tool and that is what I'd buy.

I don't know why you suffer such a long time resolution, complex item? for me, I'm seller ( full time export job for a company / retail part-time on billiard parts), but also I buy a lot of things. I know both pain. when transaction smooth, no problem. but when have issue, will judge seller good or bad & if you are doing the right thing and stand for your client, buyer just know it. I think most seller are in this way, you may meet bad example. anyway though this business is not my main, I do take it seriously too, will try go as far as I could.

go back to the tip shaver, the problem now is not the price or origin. but this tool is new, nobody know it. once it proves good by wide sampling in third party, I can make bundle quantity & offer a big discount price. then whatever the buyer take, it's market decided.

Not a bad idea trying to copy the Willards tipper. The problem is that the Willard needs no R&D. It's already proven. Good luck with your product but if I didn't have a lathe I would just buy the Willard for the comfort of knowing I don't need to wonder what results I would get.

what I'm thinking now is that I take 1set sample, and transmit the tool from one ppl to another, 3-5 testor who interest to try or buy it, write review here after tried and transmit to next testor. if the tool proves good, testor get special offer for this tool. if the tool performs bad, no big loss for everybody.
send me email if anybody wanna try in this way.

The problem is BOTH the price and origin. You have an unproven product for a price that isn't much less than the Willard and "support" from??????????

if I launch this kind of tool, the support could come from US local, not a issue. and will take video, put on CD if required to in same way. ppl all want cheap price & local service, but need balance, you take this, then you lose that.

I think I offered estimate selling price a little bit earlier coz' still have some homework to do. anyway, I will work on it & see what I can share in next few weeks.

Are you gonna offer extra sleeves/coolets to accommodate different tip diameters?
The product is very similar to the Willards, I would look for ways to distinqish/improve on that product. What about a tip centralizer type insert? making the tip glued on evenly an easier task?

Gotta say...not a fan of copying another's design and selling it while the original is still available.....no matter how much less $$$ it is. No offence meant, but....Sell it to the people that are in your country and you may make a living, etc., but here in the US, we already have the original, U.S.A. designed and produced, proven, product.
