I want to ask about the tip size... what is the advantade to use a smaller tip size let's say 12.5 mm and what is the advantage to use 13 mm tip size.
what kind of a different hit produce from the different tip size? i hope many good player here can tell me about it.

i ask this question, because my friend told me for using a smaller tip size to produce more power. it's that true?

I believe the type of hit produced is more of a combination of taper, tip diameter and even the type of tip used. In regards to a smaller tip size contributing to more power, I would think that a thick, stiff taper and perhaps a hard tip may be the best bet at doing so.

Your friend knows not of what he speaks. A smaller tip allows you to locate a point of contact on the cueball more precisely than with a larger tip. Great players tend to be real picky about this. You can debate about what characteristics a smaller tip imparts on a cueball, however in your case(and I'm assuming you're a beginner) stay with the standard 13mm. Your stroke has to be true with a smaller tip because any miscue, misalignment, or simply hitting the cueball in the wrong spot will be magnified with a smaller tip.

Using a small tip 11.75 will tell you how much you are mishitting the CB as it magnifies it. Practice with 11.75 and move up if necessary for the match.
