Tip size

I am currently playing with an 11.5mm tip down from 11.8 quite a while ago (~10 years).
I would like to go even smaller--maybe 11.2±mm but not likely all the way to 10.5mm.

I've enjoyed playing pool with 13 .50 mm shafts for many year's then shifted back to 13 mm now my main playing cue has a 13.26 mm shaft .
With another cue that's 12.50 mm or close to it , the bottom line is it depends on how good or bad my arthritis is doing that day and at that time ha ha .

Use what works best for you, if it working, why ask if its good, bad, or what?

You need confusion.
BC no one knows what works best for them until they have tons of experience and if they seek improvement from their current “ best” — that is where one tries slight changes to their norm - I know that you know this😁😁👍

In all honesty it was more than likely all the years I've spent working outdoors in all sorts of weather either extremely hot or cold fixing a water well or windmill and getting my hands wet and wearing chore gloves because insulated rubber gloves were few and far between .

Then hunting and trapping predators most winters also , feeding livestock and chopping out ice from stock tanks so the cows could drink .

I have 11.5mm on my playing /break cues. Both shafts are wood and pro taper and work for me. My snooker cue is 10.5 mm ash cue with a black fibre ferrule vs the brass ferrule. I goofed around trying my pool cue on a snooker table and my snooker cue on a pooltable. I could use the 10.5mm on a pooltable but I wouldn't rely on it

It works fine for both. As I said above, I've been playing pool with a 10mm tip for a few decades - no problems (and I can easily see where I'm hitting the CB).

No, I was asking George the Greek because he said

Just got a Rhino 10.5mm tip delivered today after I finally decided to try it. It seemed surprisingly small when I first got it out (that's what she said). And then with a CF shaft and how thin it is it felt very weird in a closed bridge, super slippery and sleek. Played a couple hours with it and love it. I don't notice any major changes in making shots or anything, accuracy is the same. I like the feel of it, though, just feels more accurate, like I'm poking the exact right spot instead of clubbing it. I thought it might feel quivery or something on hits with it being so thin, but, not sure if it's the CF or what, but it doesn't at all.

Shaft profile has a lot to do with what tip size works. I suspect carbon fiber will usher in a new era of acceptable tip sizes too. The small tips in snooker are almost always paired with a much more conical taper shaft unlike the long pro tapers used in pool.

When out of stroke I play best with a 12.25mm to 12.75mm tip and shaft. In stroke I might go down as small as 11mm. My CF shaft is 11.8mm and works fine for me.

Hu
I had a ramin wood 11mm in the 70s. Shot pretty well I recall.

Can anyone here get 8' of draw from 8' feet away with a snooker cue (9.5-10.5mm)? Surly the stiffness of the larger shaft gives more power.
