Tip - what Flavor is everybody using these days

Right now I have said goodbye to layered tips, It all about techno duds for me. Once broken in the tip is just amazing, will be trying kitech medium hard and hard next. the medium was way to spongy, I cant imagine the medium soft or soft. The Dud is amazing, holds shape, chalk retention is killer, and action is fantastic. Tone is a bit quiet until broken in.

I've used triangles since the 90's. Bob Frey used them and they play great.
I play with maple shafts. Triangles went thru a time when they were soft ( supposed to be medium hard ). Now for years they are back to medium hard. I use 14mm tips and cut them down to about 12.8mm shafts.
There is one thing about triangles that Bob and I found.
Some of them ( about 5-8 out of a box of 50 are very hard, and you can tell
before you put one on. Sand the bottom of the tip, the color of the medium hard tip
will have a blueish tinge to it while the very hard ones will be dark brown.
Good luck

Hello ,

I had a new Triangle installed about a week ago , Not a very good one. The one that came off was really good. It played excellent were the new one is playing like a dud. I have used Kamui in the past but seemed to miscue alot toward the end of using them tho I will say that once wore down to that last leval it played excellent and really seemed to grab the ball . To me Kamui seemed to play better the more it wore down. But hate paying $35 for a tip , I have been looking at a Tiger Everest as I hear they are decent. What tip have you found to play like it should . I prefer a Medium tip .
Try the elk master pro. Have to buy online from eu. Cant find in the US. 45$ for 3 tips. Always the same from tip to tip. And always a great hit from new to the end. Multi layered tips seem to bo very inconsistent through out wear and ea tip seems different. Probably due to the glue idk. I have used almost every brand of tip. Wasted a lot of money putting a $30 tip on and the next day change it out to another. Now the elk master “pro” med is all I like to use.

I have played with a tiger Everest for at least 10 years. It's a great low maintenance tip. Much better than the Sniper or a Moray. However I just bought a new Predator Valor SL3 that came with the predator medium. That tip is now my new favorite. I've played with it for 2 months and have yet to miscue. Holds chalk and shape great with a good transfer of english.

I have been curious about those elk pros! Good to hear some positive feedback. But that price seems a bit steep even for three, I can recommend Outsville tips to you, techno dud $9 a tip. Im sure you will be happy.

26oz break stick has a phenolic tip. McDermott cue has a medium Kamui black with clear base. Old Helmstetter has brown Kamui soft. Really like Kamui tips and chalk.
