Tipping the tournament coordinator?

I played in a tournament this past weekend, and won some money. I overheard one of the other players that made the money rounds that they planned to throw the tournament organizer some cash. I asked some of the other players if they had done this in the past and they said no.

Do most other people out there tip their tournament coordinator or not? I'm sure there's some tournament coordinators on this message board. What's your experience?

In all the years I’ve run tourneys, I’ve only received one tip. And that was from a new player that sorta just played good enough to come into the money and was insistent upon me taking it. I have never expected a tip for running a tournament, a few have offered but I normally decline.

As a player, I must admit, I don’t normally tip the TD. But I do tip the people or houseman behind the counter.
