TIPS TIPS TIPS

Looks like I am mistaken. Ooops layered tips must have improved. I see Legends G-spin is layered and listed for many top players.
Hmmm, well I apologize and stand corrected.

What is interesting to me is how often the top snooker players seem to have issues with their tips during tournaments. They struggle with a tip they don’t like and may (or may not) replace the tip during the tournament.

For all the pool I’ve watched, I can’t think of a match in which a player had those kind of tip issues (not a tip coming off or chipping).

TIPS TIPS TIPS

Throw all your tips in a burn pile, cut the ones on your cues
off and burn them too.
Then buy a box of Le Pro's and a box of Triangles.
You needn't concern yourself with tips again EVER EVER EVER

Well now that brings memories of my conversations er uh listening as I drove, got education. Mainly of the ways of the Dennis The Menice like white boy from Oakland. That's why they called him Coal.
The meet to exchange his rig for the money loaned. His first look was for his baggie of.......tips. Maybe a half dozen.
Water Buffalo from Vietnam. The Master maker had passed and these were his last. The apprentice took over the making but not the same. 🤷‍♂️

My competition days had me wearing out tips and the best tip was just before it was done. The advantage of harder tip is it stays in the sweet spot longer.
Listening to the contact.

I believe that Tiger tips says that they use it as an indicator for replacement.

Yeah, I actually called Tiger about this and they said the red layer is an indicator to let you know that the tip is due for replacement soon but it is playable and made of the same material as the rest of the tip, just dyed a different color.

That gets a.....well okay I try to suppress the giggle. Really?
Well as my Father's statement of, "if it feels good", can be applied here. If it feels good, play with it.
Perhaps as effective as training wheels for the bicycle. 🤷‍♂️

I've installed lots of elk master and triangle tips. A box is $75. You throw the box in water keep the 4 or 5 tips that sink. Then throw away the floaters. Each good Triangle is actually $15-20.
Ill take a Tiger Sniper for $25 or a Thoroughbred for $10 all day...

Reminds me of the warnings on drain cleaner... Do not ingest!! If you need a color indicator to tell you... oh to heck with it.
I thot it was there to protect the ferrule and soften the hit.
Learn something new everyday, eh Greg??😉

Hi All,

I know there has been many threads with tips before, but I wanted to get some feedbacks with these new tips on the market. I know its subjective but a few feedbacks would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have several customers that love the How Titan. It plays great, and is consistent throughout the life of the tip. If you play 3-4 times a week, it will last close to a year.

Buy a lathe and people will ask you for all kinds of tips and gizmos. But in three years not one person, even the crusty old guys, ask for Elknaster or Triangle.

I personally don't like Kamuis, but lots of people love em...

In my area, we press both and that's all these guys want. You get a good one, there's no comparison.
