Tired of the same old crap

Morning everybody;
I have thought long and hard about starting this thread but I decided if I didn't I would be hypocritical.
I often read on this sight everybody complaining about one thing or another yet I don"t see any comments on how to make things better.
So what I propose for this thread is for anyone making comments to please have a solution with the complaint or negative observation.
My first problem /solution is with the US Open ..... All monies must be placed in escrow with a 2nd signature required to remove funds. Maybe even have Mark Griffin, should he be willing, as a second; but if money isn't up front... no tournament! The fact that year after year we hear of checks being no good when issued (by the way that's illegal as far as I know) is pitiful.
Barry has done a lot for pool but his present business model for the US Open just makes a black eye on pool.
So let's hear what others have to say.....remember if you have a complaint you need to have a suggestion to cure said problem.

That sounds good but is not completely practical. He depends on the money from the tournament to cover the total costs. Almost every business does this. They have credit lines and often buy stock that will have to be sold before they can pay the supplier.

As long as he covers everything in a reasonable length of time I think the players are good with that. He maybe should not over extend himself so much though. Maybe a bit smaller prize funds that is easier to cover would be a good idea.

I agree that complaining can be excessive. But let's look at it a little differently. Complaints can be viewed as questions..."My back hurts" is really asking "why does my back hurt?" If I had a solution, I might not be complaining.

Not all people have the knowledge, wisdom or experience to have the answers to their "complaints".

Oftentimes, complaining can make others more aware of problems and therefore more likely encourage solutions. Complaints can get annoying, but they can be part of the learning process.

I agree.

You are not alone in your mission to determine the problems within pool,
without finding the solutions.
The are many of us who continue to work hard, for free ,
to be the change we want to see within the pool community.

Complaining about folks complaining isn't conducive to a forum. There are enough ground rules for the forum. Pool has sunk to an all time low as far as parlors/rooms are concerned. Mostly due to their own grievous fault. I posted a lot on the winners and losers there. On the bright side with most rooms/parlors going the way of the mastodons many of those left have an armored car take the haul. Streaming is the way back. It is dirt cheap to do and reaches out to those that did play, are playing, will start playing. Likely not helping to establish new rooms but sales for homes and increasing interest in left over rooms. I hear your pain but this is the USA where the meek inherit nothing. We need Star Entertainers the likes of Mosconi. He was grumpy buy entertaining. Also the Earl's. Most of our Pros are like at their Mother's Wake. Pool isn't alone, a much much bigger Industry is dying, golf.
