Hi,
Has anyone use the titan ferrule material from Atlas Billiards? If so, how is it?
Is it hard or soft?
Thanks,
Owen

I was wondering if the titan material is the same as what is used to make Ivor-x ferrules? I like how Ivor-x ferrules stay clean but they seem to have a hard hit.

I just received some yesterday. Haven't tried it but it is a softer plastic, comparable to their MP ivory ferrule material. Maybe even softer. It is whiter in appearance & almost has a pearlescent sheen to it although that might change when it's machined.

I got it partly because I was curious, too, but mainly because it was available with a 1/4" hole.

Many times, when repairing the cheaper cues with the splined ferrules, the tenon is undersized & not concentric with the shaft. After truing the tenon up, I usually custom fit a ferrule using the more expensive linen based phenolic rod. With the smaller hole in the Titan, I have a cheaper alternative to offer the owner of a $50 cue.

Still haven't tried it so no idea about durability or gluability (sp?) but I think it will have a place as another option. It should also stay pretty clean as it won't pick up chalk dust like the softer LBPs.

For me it is and I have played with Ivor-x for several months last year. The ferrule hit I seem to like most is melamine, ivory, and moose antler. The tips I use are a constant, Moori medium.
