Titlist Butt on eBay

The seller cut down an original one piece Titlist, added a brass joint with a 5/16-18 thread and fitted a used shaft to it.

Would this butt still be a good candidate for conversion by a "real" cuemaker?

Sure, if you trust the seller - it still has the decal and the signature, so it's close to the original thickness. A concern might be that the signature is close to the top, and since it was originally a '14', there's no telling what's inside (or not) the butt. Personally, it didn't interest me either as a conversion candidate or 'as-is' - too many nice older 1-piece Hoppes on ebay recently, and cheaper.

I really don't know ...

But, what dollar range do cuemakers usually charge to take say just a housecue and convert it to a 2 pc. Sneaky Pete? Not with ivory or anything, say just a wood-to-wood joint or perhaps phenolic joint?

That's a real good question. Billiardcue.com has some Titlist SP's with 'just enough' work, for $750 each (recent price increase). They seem to have all the original damage. An un-worked 1-piece in similar condition, common wood, would go for about $250 on ebay. $500 seems excessive.

Conversion Cues

This fellow wants $300 for this cue!? Not a bad price compared to what they've been going for on Ebay lately.

I think you can spend anywhere from $250 to $650 to $1,200 on up for a conversion.....depending upon who is doing the converting :D

Personally, I think you are better off buying a heavier one piece cue which doesn't have a good decal for a convert -- save the two piece cues and such with the good decals for the historical / collectible folks ;)

Member for three years yet no feedback? I wouldn't trust him...
I've seen the cue and I know the seller.., he can be trusted.., he is not computer savy and his wife just started listing items on eBay for him this week.., she has been a member for quite some time but never bought or sold anything.., I know these people will continue to be active eBayers in the future and plan on listing many interesting motorcycle and automotive related items.

I know that many AzBers have interest in Titlist cues and keep there eye out for Titlists for conversion so I wanted to bring this one to their attention.., I just did not know if this butt was still a good candidate for conversion by an experienced cuemaker in it's present state.
