Titlist Conversion

Ive have seen these titlist conversions on a lot of websites like Billiardcue.com and Proficientbilliards but what exactly is that? From what I understand the Titlist is an old Brunswick cue but why would someone want to make a conversion out of those cues????

They were house cues.
They were pretty and for the most part would hit great b/c they are full-splice and had old maple as "forearm/shaft".
The cuemaker will have to be careful in making one though. The joint area might have to be a little thicker than the standard .840-.850 as to not do dig down too much on the veneers.
A friend/collector of mine had one done by Zylr. It will be in the Blue Book III. Jim Buss also has one on his site. Very very pretty.

Wish I could have one! Great, vibrant colors and classic, understated elegance...if done right!

Piglit, funny thing is Titlists cues can be had cheap sometimes. Look for old widows having garage sales. lol
They go for around $250-350 on Fleabay.

I did look into getting one, but didn't want to pay the big bucks to have one done...

Bought a new 4 veneer cue at what I feel was a good price.

Thanks for looking out for me!

they hit great. titleist cues converted by cuemakers i don't care for,,,still hit great.

problem a basic converted titleist start at around $1000

If you ever get a chance to see Oscar Dominguez play - he uses one Tad made. It's flat gorgeous and hits a ton. One of the nicest playing cues I've seen.

His is probably worth $2,000.

I have three of them, one was bought for me in the late 40's, the other one I bought with 2 shafts in the late 50's. My third one was special made for the owner of Coke in Atlanta, one piece and a snooker cue also with the Hoppe signature. I got it out of his estate when he died.

Rambo early on and Balbuskea both used the butts because the points were so nice and just enlayed them some and put a better shaft on them. They have very nice leather grips on them, very nice. Every year in time they seemed to go down in quality and by the early 60's they were nothing as good as they had been. They have the willie Hoppe signature in the shaft, brass joint, small pin. They are 57" and really a billiard cue and not a pool cue by todays standards. Big butt, little butt heavy as well. Played with them and Rambo's for years, set two world records with them. They are now retired and cherished wall hangers in my studio. :D
