To All IPT Qualifier Players - Dispute Your Credit Card Charges

Just a thought but any player that played in any qualifier for the Reno event or any other event after that should immediately call their respected CC companies and dispute the charges that were charged by the IPT. If everyone did this it would surely get the IPT's attention and possibly become the start of the Class Action Case against the IPT.

My advice would be to wait until Friday to see what the next announcement holds. If it does not say that the players are getting paid I suggest picking up the phone and calling the CC companies immediately.
Additionally, you may want to check your CC companies rules about disputes and make sure that you file your dispute within the proper time frame.

It definately appears the the players have been patient through this whole matter but the time may have come to take action.

I would also start to gather all receipts from participating in any qualifier for and since Reno to use in the law suit (Hotel Bills, Food, Travel Expenses, New Tip on Cue, Clothes Bought For The Mandatory Dress Code and ANYTHING ELSE). These items will greatly enhance any settlement that may come if you win in court.

In fact, you should probably call your CC companies today and start the process. If by chance the IPT makes good you can always cancel your dispute.

Phoenix,
If goods and services (transportation, lodging, etc.) were incurred for past IPT events, then that person is responsible for paying these charges. The credit card companies are certainly not responsible for the IPT's non-performance in paying checks to the players.

For future events, you have a better chance of disputing any transportation, lodging and other expenses.

I think he was talking about the qualifier entry fees that were paid via credit card online to the IPT. They could claim that they did not get what they paid for.

Good idea.

Cheers,

PoolSharkAllen, the transportation, lodging and other expenses incurred may apply to any lawsuits that may arise. Sixpack put it correctly, and this part does not apply to the CC disputes.

The CC disputes should be good to dispute for anyone that paid the 2 grand to play in any of the qualifiers for Reno and for any event after Reno if the IPT bails out and does not make good on the services that were part of the whole package. Ie.. You played in a Qualifier to play in Chicago or Next years TC event but the Chicago event or the TC event never happened, therefore they did not provide the services paid for.

Additionally, the responsible parties (IPT) are very familiar with the CC companies procedures about filing CC disputes in a timely manner and that could be one of the reasons for the stall tactics.

Again, I suggest that you should probably call your CC companies today and start the process. If by chance the IPT makes good you can always cancel your dispute.

More or less with you on the Reno qualifiers bit inasmuch that the published guaranteed prize money payments haven't been made within a reasonable time therefore there is probably already grounds right now for disputing a CC payment. There might even be grounds for Reno qualifiers to make a complaint to the police that they have been premeditatively defrauded, especially if it transpires that the prize funds are not in fact "guaranteed by an international accounting firm" as was alleged.

There were no qualifying events for Chicago,it is a members only event. As regards those who played in a qualifier for the 2007 TC qualifying event presently scheduled for Las Vegas in December surely they are not in a position during October or November to file a CC payment dispute on the basis that the agreed prize of a place in a December scheduled event hasn't happened yet? Isn't this aspect of the potential complaint/dispute scenario more geared towards the future rather than now?

Good point, whether it is a factor in IPT's thinking or not haven't seen anyone else bring that possibility up

Any Reno qualifier who hasn't yet filed a CC dispute woud be crazy not to do so immediately, although I fear in some cases it may be too late already.
Any Reno qualifier who is angry enough might wish to consider the police complaint angle too.Alas the tour card holders would seem to have no such recourse presently available to them.

MeMikey, I have do disagree with you on your points about the players not being able to dispute their CC charges for the TC qualifying event. I simply base this on the idea that since nobody has yet been paid from Reno and the IPT has not lived up to their end of the bargain it is simply fraud. I'm pretty sure any CC company will agree. I have had extensive experience with situations dealing with CC companies and they are very tough on these things. I am not a lawyer but it's just plain old common sense.
