Hey Horsetrader. We have had a communication breakdown!! I have responded to each of your PM's to me but apparently you didn't receive them. FYI I never heard of Bill Cox. If you can open and retreive your personal messages you can see my replies to you. If not, and you're interested, I will re-send them to you. You will have to unblock your receipt of PM's for me to do so. Let me know.

Doug,

I'm pretty good at figuring things out and I'm not sure how or if you are blocked. Why would I block anyone?

Bill Cox was known to people on the boulevard as Tobacco Bill had a girlfriend named Sherry. Sherry died quite a while back and then Bill died several years ago. Bill played pretty fair and was a regular fixture on the boulevard and

Thanks, Yea, Bill was probably the best player I've ever seen for 2 and 5 dollars. Great guy! Thanks! Seems like everyone I ask about is dead. I just learned that a young man by the name of John Bowlen died in 2004 at the age of 45. Thanks again Jerry.

Bill Cox

Bill was really a nice guy. He was one of the first "good" players I got to knoiw when I started playing in 1989. I was nearly 50 then and he would kid me about being so old to start playing pool.

Blocked?

Doug,

Hello Horsetrader. Glad to know you can figure things out because I admit that I haven't figured this one out at all. However, the last time I responded to your PM I received a prompt from AZ that "Horsetrader has blocked replies". AZ will have to figure that out I suppose. Personally, I assure you I have no issues with any AZ member regardless of ideology. Discussion forums, to me, are just that: for discussions and I enjoyed our discussions. If you can access your PM's maybe you can see where I replied. Anyway, played Billy a few games last night before the superbowl and he wore me out. Next time I think I will put grease in his chalk, lol.

This is verbatim the message/prompt shown when I click on: Send a private message to Horsetrader:
"Horsetrader has chosen not to receive private messagesor may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her". Most likely if you click on the private message under your avatar you will see the same thing. In any event it seems like something Azbillards needs to be involved in.

Doug, I did play with the settings on this forum and perhaps I clicked something that I shouldn't have. Maybe blocking you by mistake. If I did, and I don't think I did, I try to play with the settings again. Maybe I cam get this thing straighten out.

About Bill Cox, I use to see him a LOT around "Guys tavern" on 23rd street. I think it was 23rd street. I can say I donated funds to Bill Cox in the early days. As the years passed by and my game improved, of course Bill quite playing. I liked him. Good solid man who always stirred me right. Oh Bill helped me a lot during the "River Boat" days. If you started playing at 50 then you'll probably not know about this place. Those where the days my friend. A LOT of gambling all night long but a fellow had to be very careful.

Do you or anyone know Ed Carver? He's about 66, big man.

Yea, at 50, you started late but hey better late than never. Right? What do you do for a living, or what did you do?

Played pool with someone today you may know. Jerry Moody and Calvin Keeton. Both of them played pool with the people you have mentioned years ago and are very familiar with the happenings in and around Rossville Blvd. I didn't arrive in Chattanooga until 1968 and didn't play pool until '88 or '89 so many of the places in folklore were gone before my I knew about them. Before retirement I owned some motorcycle dealerships.

If I seen a picture of Jerry then perhaps I could place him. I was always in and around action. All the time unless I was working.

Seems like your truly retired. What kind of work does Jerry do?

I played with the settings today in this forum and I can't figure out if I'm done something wrong, or perhaps you're doing something wrong.

You said Phil Hunt had a heart transplant? Wow! That's major! Phil and me use to sit around at Dee Browns and play word games at night while waiting for action.

Jerry's retired too. He is on AZ and has read this. Probably Phil too. Most of the people I play pool with are retired. They let me out of the nursing home on Tue to play pool with them, lol.

I wonder if Phil W. remembers Bill from Tupelo Ms? I can't think of his last name, Paxton I think. My mind is not what is used to be. Which Phil reads this. PH or PW?
