Ehhh... I'd need a good recommendation from someone on here first, or it'd have to be free. Have you read any of them? Seems it could have a high schlockiness (sp?) factor.. I could see the guy being the type of "hustler" the public has an image of, not anything that remotely resembles a competent roadman.

Oof. Only part way through first chapter, and it's kind of awful, depending on what kind of fiction writing one prefers, and especially awful when it comes to the "hustling". The two vampires come to a town looking for a player they heard about, to play for money, but whoever steered them, did not tell them the player was a 17 year old black girl? This author has definitely never really been deep in the pool scene. He ain't no Walter Tevis. (Pardon the double negative, Thankee Sai....)

Now, to be clear... It seems like it could be a somewhat fun read for someone who has absolutely no clue about pool, but it is already grating on my nerves, and I don't think I can read any more of it. The writing is as schlocky as I figured. Doesn't compare to a single story in Byrne's Book of Great Pool Stories.
