Too mechanical?

Might I suggest that you concentrate on getting your mechanics straightened out first and forget about your pocketing ability. Thats two different things and you already know how to pocket balls but your setup timing eye pattern.... is not allowing you to deliver the CB where you think its going.

Nearly every time I take a lesson my game initially falls off, then there's a jump beyond where I was. Keep up the good work. Do not give up. You went to Pool School. You have the knowledge. It just needs to be implemented.

One last thought. Ability and success is subjective. Its hard to self assess. It's nearly impossible to see the tiny improvements. In other words. You may be progressing faster than you realize. There are thousands that do or would admire your ability. Just as there are dozens that you admire and strive to achieve their level of play. No matter how well you play there will always be a faster gun. That's the beauty of this game. Never stop learning.

MATT....this is a GREAT post......SPF=randyg

Just wanted to thank the OP and the existing replies. I have been struggling quite a lot these last few weeks with a lot of these same issues. Today I felt like quitting all together, like all that I had read and watched ruined my game. I know I'm thinking about e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g when I'm down on the shot but I shouldn't be. I should be able to trust my stroke, but I can't, which means it's off - so that's just one more thing I'm trying to focus on while playing, and it's sent my brain into overload - as was previously mentioned.

I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who's game declines after picking up some new information while trying to implement it. It's very difficult to not get angry though when nothing seems to be working - at least for me.

Anyway - I found this thread to be a bit inspiring, and wanted to say thanks!
