Haven't played with it for 16 years.
While it sat in its case, one of the rings probably got swolen a bit and raised the finish around it but the cue still looks amazing.
it came with 2 shafts, one at 12.3mm and the other at 12mm with a bit longer ferrule. I used the 12.3mm tonigh.
I couldn't find my pivot spot for the shaft and missed a few balls with spin. I changed the shaft to my Revo 12.9mm and I was good to go.
To be honest, it's a really nice cue and the weight and balalnce point are spot on to my liking but compared to other cues I have with the same joint, I like the hit of my Schons, McDaniels and Jacoby better
Back to the case until next time...

Nice cue. Assuming the rings are nickel, they didn't likely swell, but rather the surrounding wood shrunk just a bit. That happens more in dry climates but can happen anywhere depending on climate control.

They are made from Aluminum.
But it could be the wood

Yeah, I see what you mean. Couple of possibilities. One, the wood next to the ring shrunk a bit, and two, some finish tends to flake off of some metals sooner than it flakes off wood. Could be a combination of the two giving it that look. In older cues, that's character.
interestingly, it only happened on the bottom ring, the others are ok
The cue still looks great and I don't mind it.
I got it in 2009 from Bill of Cornerstone and back then Mike Cochran dated it for me to 1990, so this baby has been around...
