tor lowry

Actually it applies to all, except for the last video on position play which as was stated was shot in a 9' table. You will not end up in the same position following the videos, You will have to compensate because of the space and travel distance. To be repetitive they are very good videos, they could be great OMn a 9'.

Something that would be a great question to ask Thor, " why was the last video shot in a 9'?"

I have them all and will buy this last one as well.

I just thought the last video was on a 9' table because he got a new table. It looks like it is still in the same room.

I also have all of Tor's DVD's and just want to say that I think they are great as I have learned a lot from watching everyone of them numerous times.

is Tor still doing the 14 day challenge? I do enjoy his youtube videos. I'll try that 3000 shot drill whenever I get my own table.

Is it even possible to go from a C player to a B player in a matter of months?

Yes, if by months you mean like how the count baby years. So you're thinking like 18-24 months or so? hmm. lol

C to B in less than a year depends on a lot from the persons side but i would have to say that you would have to treat this like a job and get your 30-40 hours in a week to pull that off. but that just my opinion.

You are correct to a point. That geometrically all the diamond systems and lengths match up. But when friction of cloth, distance object ball from rail and the wider the bank angle-even Tor says you have to compensate with varying degrees of running English/or subtracting numbers the father you are away from the rail. So when taking Tor's techniques onto a nine foot table, it was frustrating. I've tried out on a seven foot and they were spot on for sure.

Part of the reason for this is that if you watch a ball hit the rail that has full rotation on it then it will curve a little back up toward that rail which is why the distance from the rail and the slickness of the cloth comes into play. This is true of any table the wider the kick/bank angle becomes. 2 diamonds is 2 diamonds always and a 30 degree entry into a rail is always a 30 degree entry into a rail, but the above is often overlooked.

If I recall correctly, more than one book and video I have been through talked about these are the reasons you should always bank somewhat fast/hard as there is more consistency in the shot regardless of conditions.

I would say I am not good at banking or kicking as I have not spent much time developing those things. However, when I am forced to do it I do it with a consistent firm stroke using pretty much the same technique with pretty much the same results.
