im playing a local bar table tournament when the guy shooting at the etght touches the cue ball with his cue. i tell him and he procedes to shoot the eight in anyways. the guy proceedes to tell me,,,,,,,,,,,i touched the cue ball with my cue, but didnt move it...........just to be a good sport i ask what the rule is on that situation. well its not my regular spot and the person running the tournament didnt see it. is it a foul ?,,,,,,,,,i know it is, but lets get some feedback on people like this

btw, i played him later in the tournament, put him in a trap and he sunk the eight out of turn. revenge is sooooooooo sweet
 
of course that's a foul.

I would've called him on it as soon as he hit it even before he got to hit it the second time. If you didn't have time to stop before he made it, then call a double hit on him.

Honestly is rare thing these days in pool, don't let people get away with crap like that...
 
When he smoked, did he not inhale? This guy was just being a jackass. C'mon, anyone who knows anything would say that's a foul just as you had said. Was he just a banger? Glad to hear you at least got him back in some way. Should've asked him if he wanted to put money on whether that was a foul or not.
 
just a question..did he touch the cueball while stoking or was he moving the cueball to a position on the table with the cue. In the APA league that i play in...if your not stroking the ball and you move the cue ball with your cue it is not a foul it must be during the course of attempting to make the shot

Hey, Sounds like you were playing in Arkansas! :) I used to play in a league in AR where if you hit the CB accidentally, and it didn't go more than 6" OR hit another ball, then it was NOT a foul, and STILL your turn at the table.

Oh, well... like I said "USED TO PLAY" on that league...
