Some thoughts
No glove on either hand - respect.
Could increase the degree of difficulty by putting the balls on the table before the freeze
An upgrade to really expensive chalk may help with the draw...

I came up in a pool hall back in northern IL, owned by the worst business man on the planet.
He could not afford to keep the heat on during the winter.
Against code, he would fire up a kerosene torpedo heater in the mornings to "take the edge off".
After closing, we would fire it back up and play poker in the back, still wearing our winter coats and gloves.
Once the heater began to sputter it was "last hand!"
