Tour Bashing

I continue to read what seems to be a huge amount of NEGATIVE statements about anyone or any company that tries to start holding tournaments or tours.
I don't care if the devil himself holds the tournament...that main questions I ask...did I get paid? Are the events run in an honest manner?....were the venues crowd favorable as well as player freindly?
Who knows why the IPT, Evolution biliards, Viking tour, or anyone else for that manner would subject themselves to the crap we read on these sites day in and day out.
Maybe I look at things wrong, I don't know....but if someone is making money and they aren't hurting anyone....leave them alone!
Bottom line, if you don't have something positive to contribute.....you don't have all of the facts...whatever the reason....if your not helping then that only leaves one other option...your hurting those that are at least trying.
Sorry for the length, but damn I get tired of negative, negative, negative.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Onr other input, I just can't resist...maybe all the nay sayers should get together, round up the financial backing, Pr, etc and hold a few tournaments.
Thanks

I dont think the negative feedback is so much a function of the tours, its more of the way in which message boards operate. They're a place to vent. People get more satisfaction in voicing their concerns about things that annoy them rather complementing something they like. It happens at the office too. You never hear about all the things that went right. Things are expected to go right. You only hear about the things that go wrong.

But I see your point. That's why I'd like to say the Tri-state tour in the NYC area rocks! Good competition, good prize money, well run.

They wouldn't have anything to ***** about then.;)

Sorry, the only tour I knocked (was cautious of) is the EBS and it turns out now that I was right about it. :(

Complaining about tours or bashing them is ok if thats your opinion. But my problem comes when the complaints seems to not have any ground beneath them. Fine argue why these tours suck, will suck, implode, explode, but make sure your arguements are LOGICAL. So i dont mind it, if we all agreed then it would kinda defeat point of a DISCUSSION board.

You know, I have thought about forming a billiard tour just like the IPT, with large payouts, etc. The only problem is that I don't have the money. You see, I have this emotional condition called a conscience that just won't let me scam millions of people out of their hard-earned money just to satisfy my own desires.

I guess the California Con-man doesn't have that problem. Hey, maybe he knows of a "natural cure" for it!

Thanks "rackmsuckr",

It appears to me that some of the other posters in this thread do not live in the real world.

I have been saying this since I first logged on to this MB not a long time ago.

Many are bitting the hand that feeds them.

Some are bashing something they were never asked to be a part of.

Many have very little knowledge or experience of how to run or operate a tournament, or have the money to do so.

Even fewer understand how to market a tournament so that it makes profit, so that another tournament can be produced. With out profit, or worse taking a loss, how could an operator justify having a second or third tournament?

It's a joke, and, believe it or not, can be very hurtful to the people who are trying to push the sport many people here love into the spotlight.

One more reason that billiards sports will continue to be associated with drugs, alcohol, and gambling if this type of mentality continues.

Maybe the time has come this MB needs a new forum category, like "Cues wanted/for sale", "Cue Gallery", "General forum", and "Bash your local and national tournament here!@#" sections.
