Tour Update 2: Manilla bound - anyone know any good players?

...Ok so there are quite a few :-) But due to a few urgent travel issues I have had to take an unexpected side trip from Thailand - what better place than the phillipines!

Appreciate any tips on comps, pool halls and where the best players play? Also anyone know when Reyes etc will be back from the states?

I'm currently in HK, half way there! :(

Wow, TheOne! You sure do live the good life. What a great pool journey, from Down Under, to Thailand, a little stop in Hong Kong, and now off to the Philippines for a little R&R! :)

I've never been there, but I've heard that if you're in the market for a very nice custom-made cue stick at a reasonable price, The Philippines is the place to shop.

Have a great trip, you lucky duck! :)

try Coronado lanes in Makati... a lot of good players there. Django, Efren, and Rodolfo Luat frequents the place (to play pusoy and tong-its) :D if you're looking for money games, try Lucky 13 pool hall (where Efren learned how to play pool) in Sta. Cruz Manila and the pool hall in Farmer's Cubao... actually, there's a lot of pool halls here that has good players. ;) from the side street pool halls to big establishments... have a safe trip and hope that you'll enjoy your stay here.

If you will be here stil this February 21-27, there will be an All-Filipino
9 Ball Tournament where Reyes, Bustie and others will compete.

Here's the story from Inquirer here.

Thanks or that, I'll check the one in Makita out tomorrow. I have just got of a plane and its about 2am and i'm in Malata? Funny thing though, I walked out of my hotel and whats opposite me, a billiard hall on the 3rd floor LOL (off to check it out after this :) Anyway, I would mind playing a few of the pro's for small change as long as I am learning from them - thats half the reason I came - might even get a good spot from them aye! :-))

Thanks

Hi JAM, well It souns good but its a bit hectic. I was supposed to fly to Bejing as a side trip to renew my Thai visa and do some business there but the day before I was supposed to fly I realised my passport was full so I didn't have room for a Chinese visa!! So since I had to leave Thailand I had to fly somewhere to (hopefully) get a new UK passport, then hopefully Thai visa and China visa LOL (I think I lost myself there! )

Anyway, I would rather be playing in the DCC but I'll have to wait a few more months until get to the states. Sure hope the Phillipines is the pool haven I hear it is. :-)
