Tournament tune-up

A recent poster asked how to get ready for his first tournament. There were good answers regarding tip and cue preparation. I found a short term boost by watching a (posted) video of a snooker championship. I really studied the classic form used by the players and the astounding runout. I had dreams about it and the next day I played some of my best 8 ball ever trying to emulate the snooker players stroke and moves. Therefore: it might help to watch a good video the night before the event to psych you up. Some of this stuff must sink in if only until your forget.

Long term psycho-pool aids are the classics; Zen of Archery, the Inner Game of Tennis and Psycho Cybernetics.

Funny you should mention snooker...

Some of my best-ever tournament showings were preceded by a few hours of snooker the night before.
