Tournaments around the Invitational

Hi all,

I'm from the UK and new on here, and was wondering if anyone could help a little?

I'm on the IPT for 2006, but not in the Invitational event, however, I am coming firstly because it's mandatory but just as importantly to get a real idea of the standard and also to purchase all the equipment for my house here so that I can practise.

Seeing as I'm going to be in Orlando, I figured I'd see if there's any tournaments on the weekend prior to the event or after (Nov 25-27 & Dec 9-11) as well as mid-week.

There's so many tournaments, and because my Georgraphy is not so superior that I know the different places in Orlando (seeing as the state alone is almost as big as the UK lol).

Has anyone got any info or advice?

On the AZ homepage, look at the SE Open tour under "Tours and Tourneys." The week of 11/26 there has an event in Davie, Florida (which I believe is in the Ft Lauderdale area), perhaps 175 miles south of Orlando. A phone number is provided.

Unfortunately, I am deaf, so telephone numbers are not a lot of good ha ha..

To you guys 175 miles must be 'just round the corner', but to us it's virtually from the North of England to the South!

I will check it out, meanwhile, if anyone does know of any nearer or bigger, please do let me know.

That's a lot to ask, spend maybe $1500. or more just to come and watch, is there any compensation? Also, we have good highway systems you can shoot down to the tournament in Davie in about 3 hours it's a straight shoot. Better yet fly into Fort Lauderdale play in the tournament Maybe win a few bucks and then drive to Orlando and fly out of Orlando. How long do you plan on staying?

MacGuy - I've already booked tickets for six of the UK guys - we are coming out on the 28th, and coming back on the 6th, as we had to get the tickets quickly.

We plan to come out next year a week or so prior to the IPT tournaments and get some practise by playing in events prior and perhaps after the IPT ones.

Cheers though for your information - it's a new area, and we're all appreciative of your help.
