PD cues are the BOMB!

I'm confused with the mentality of booking tourney's in direct conflict with others in the same area. why compete for the same players when a little communication helps players and promoters both. I think some promoters are thinking only of thier own wallet and not promoting the sport overall.

any comments?

Al.......Well sometimes some people/promoters just like to try to hurt other tours because of a falling out with the other tours promoter. It happens all over the country. not just here in the north east where we have several tours........ie:...Joss Northeast Tour, Balze tour, The Bay State invitational tour, plus there is another 1 that name escapes me... it is an ...a/b/c/d/ tour....I am not saying all of these tours are having problems with each other. But i know of 1 that would love to hurt another tour......mike

I think your right

Yeah your probably correct. the biggest bummer is we don't have all of these tours to choose from and only get a couple of op's for 5000 added and the like. alot of great players and some good rooms but most of the big stuff is on the coast's the heart of the pool scene communicates with each other pretty good but I feel it could be better. the thing that I'm pissed about is what you said an outside promoter coming in and knowing what he was doing setting up a conflict. a real smuck in my book but I hope everyone see's it for what it is. this is our 3rd annual and are trying to build a good tourney. I hope he pack's up and doesn't come back. Just my opinion, not worth much to anyone but me.

you couldn't be more right

...being a room operator, you put in countless hours and preparation for a tournament in your pool hall. It can really be dampened when someone from out of the area comes in and puts a conflicting tournament in a casino. The sport of pool is driven and thrives in pool halls not in a cleared out area of a casino. The most important thing to remember is that in most instances, promoters are promoting thier personal cash flow, not the sport of pool. Pool players need to remember this when choosing whether to shoot in a tournament in a pool room or tournament in a casino or convention center. The pool room operators are the ones who sponsor teams, host most tournaments and primarily promote the sport. Thank you Al for saying what every pool room operator feels.....see ya on the 26th.......jvr
