my buddy was telling me last night about a big dart/pool tourney in a convention center i think in springfield, he said they have 50 pool tables and a ton of dart boards, and he said theres some action as well

Not only that, but IF you are in IL and the Chicago area, and didn't go to The Windy City Open, then you have missed the biggest IL event for the year.

The tournament has 20 tables and no action. The event is more heavily geared to darts. You must qualify through a coin operator who belongs to the ICMOA. The tournament is 2-out-of-3 8-ball and usually has around 256 players. Here is some info:

It's not exactly the Chicagoland area but it's worth the drive.

I play there about once a month on my trips. Hell of a nice place to hang out and play! Good seating for rails, nice tables, and great food.

"The Break" in Cahokia, IL (St. Louis area) is having a MidWest 9-Ball tourney on March 11th & 12th.
Always a good tourney with the best char-broiled rib-eye steaks.
