Traveling to Port Charlette FLA, what is good to visit there?

Diamond Billiards, Southern Billiards, and Rack Em's all in Cape Coral. They all are nice rooms in their own ways. If your looking for action or tournaments go to Southern or Rackems. Diamond's isn't doing anything anymore, just a ton of amatuers and leagues

I don't do fishing, past picking out something on a menu ;) However I did select a nice room with a balcony overviewing a harbor for some scotch/port sipping and book reading outside of playing pool and work.

Does Diamond Billiards have 9 footers? I could not really tell from their photos.

Over the next few months will be back a few more times on business so will be able to check out some other places then also. I work at BJs Wholesale and we have a new club opening in the area soon.
They have 9's and 7's. Three of the 9' tables have really nice tight pockets.

My company is providing the dumpsters to the contractors building the BJ's in Port Charlotte....

I've stayed there once and really liked it, but there's a place across the way that had an awesome rooftop bar so I went there. The last ten years I've stayed in a VRBO over on Pine Island. Be sure to check out the Tarpon Lodge for a nice cracker did near with white tAble cloths. Or go to Blue Dog for a fantastic grouper Sandwich. Whatever you do don't speed on Pine Island road. They will get you.

Thanks, especially for the speeding tip LOL I am planning on a vroom vroom car for a rental, you know to get to the pool halls quicker and in style ;-)

Thanks for the info, and we are almost co-workers then hehe.
If you want to get together and play send me a PM with your #

I'm not looking to get into heavy money games, if any, I stick with 10,20 a set type things, I just like to take in the atmosphere of places and players I don't see every week.

From what I can find Southern Billiards is a shop don't see anything about it being a pool hall, and Rack'Em has furniture tables with red cloth. Who goes for action on furniture tables with red cloth LOL

edit.. found the right Southern Billiards, seems they don't have much of a web presence.

Also while looking I found a place called FK Your Diet LOL I must visit there.

Southern billiards has tournaments in sat, sun and Thursdays. A friend of mine played a week ago on Thursday night. He said there were 33 players. He also said that nobody was better than a B plus player.

You should call to find out what time they start. I was told weekends start at 3, but I don't know what game it is.

Southern billiards is not a very nice room the tables are old as hell and dirty as hell. I understand they are upgrading to Diamonds- but no way is that a nice room- but maybe the folks in there are decent people- I only stopped in there once, recently and it was too beat up to return.

Southern is running 9 ball and 8 ball on some Saturdays at noon- I think I will wait to see how the room renovates prior to visiting again.

Southern billiards Cape Coral has a facebook presence for tournament information.

Noon is too early for me to get there, too bad, seems like that's the only tournament I can make it to while in the area.

My trip may actually be postponed a bit, some issues with permits that may not be cleared up by the weekend I was due to leave.

I just called Southern Billiards.

They have a thurs night tournament. Saturday 2pm tournament and Sunday at 3 or 7. They change times in advance. Either 8 or 9 ball.

Also, they have recovered all the tables and replaced all the rails. In October they will have all new diamond tables.

I am only giving the info that I received, not trying to misinform anyone.

Again you should call them for times, their number is
239-574-6000

Hope this helps

Southern Billiards was recently renames and purchased. It might still show up on Google Maps as Midtown Lounge, or Hustlers Billiards. Its on Santa Barbara in Cape Coral. Yes the new tables should be there in a month or so. Its getting a much needed facelift, but is a work in progress. There is definately action there.

Also don't let Rack Em's fool you. Yes its a bar, yes its smokey, yes there is red felt. But its Simonis 760, the tables roll nice, they are old tables from Tampa. And YES there is plenty of action in there!!!!! (And they just put in 3 new smoke eaters, so It has been better than usual, however we are not in tourist season, so they really havent been put to work yet....

Thanks! With the trip looking to be postponed for a few days I may actually make it there for Thursday night to paly. And if the real estate/construction folks get things hopping for the normal times originally scheduled I can probably make it to the Sunday times.
