traveling with cues

i managed to get myself qualified for the apa national singles tounament at the riviera next month. i have never had to bring a cue anywhere in which i had to fly and after reading about the post where southwest lost some cues i dont really want to bring them on the plane. so my options are....ship them to the riv and have them there wating for me or ship them to a fedex facility which i think would be the safest. do any of you have experience shipping cues to the riv? do any of you know if the closest fedex facility is near the strip in vegas. another problem i have is that i am flying back home on sunday so i think fedex may be closed. would it be advisable to leave them at the riv for pick up on monday after i have gone?

The last time I was out there I purchased a rather large wheeled luggage bag for about $40 and just put my case in there for the trip back. A friend of mine packed my case inside his big suitcase on the way out. Now, I don't have thousands of dollars wrapped up in my cues (well, maybe 1k total) but I'm just going to pack it in that big bag w/all my clothes and everything for this trip too.
