treadmill motor

Anyone have any experience using treadmill motors and speed controls?

I have an old one and the controller went out. I can't get another like it, and it appears that all the newer ones work differently. I need one with the speed feedback so it will maintain speed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Royce,

I like and use the KBIC controllers. They support a high enough output amperage for treadmill motors.

Here's a link to the user manuals so you can read their specifications.

I believe the KBIC-120 or KBIC-125 will work for you. They are available on eBay often or new from the manufacturer. In any case, all of KBIC's drive conttrollers are in the link and you can look through them to see if they fit your needs.

Hope This Helps

Well guys, thanks for the suggestions!

I ended up finding a broken solder joint on the old controller and was able to fix it.

The controller I have uses a speed sensor input. Having this input enables it to maintain speed from almost no load to full motor load. I use it to run a buffer. You wouldn't believe the difference the right speed under load makes on the buffer. If it slows down just a little too much, or is a little too fast, you lose the cut and don't compound out the scratches.

Thanks again!
