Triangle vs. Moori

I have used Triangle tips for about 5 yrs now. They are all I care to use. The only problem with them is that out of a whole box of them, there may only be 10 good ones. JMO.

Triangles all day long. I don't want anything else. I laugh at the fact that they cost next to nothing, too. hahahahahahahahaha.

One thing I keep hearing is that half a box are bad. Well, out of 1 whole box, all 50 were good in my case....so I'll beleive it when I see it.

As far as consistency is concered they do tend to fade a bit...where as Moori is concerned they stay 'true' forever. But the feel and control with Triangle is just far better.
...So, that said...
Is it worth feel and control, but having to change tips every few months, to maintain the feel.
Or stick with the Moori, and forget about changing tips for a good while?

If I read this right it sounds like you like a softer tip. Triangle is a soft tip. It will compress over time so the feel will change as it firms up. The moori will compress as well, all tips do let no one tell you any different.

Sniper is a soft tip and yes it will compress as well. As all tips compress (firm up) it happens gradually so usually the player adapts to this slow change. At some point though when you feel it is to firm, then the tip will have to be replaced.

As I said it happens with all tips. Your mileage will vary depending on the tip used and the feel you like. If its to hard for you then it will have to be replaced. Triangles are inexpensive, Snipers and moori are not, its your option.

Personally I play with a milk dud as its so named but I compress mine after soaking in water. Holds chalk very well, never mushrooms and I break with mine. Another plus after a year it still isn't a hard tip.

Most won't go through this effort or change their own tip. However its by far the most consistent I have ever used. After 40+ years I have played with a few tips. LOL

You have to experiment till you find a tip you like, then hope they don't change their mixture. That happened to me over the years. I liked a tip then they changed how it was made, bummer. That is why I handle the process myself using compressed elk masters.

Rod, not just tips, and not just pool. I have a long list of products that I loved using...then they have to come along and "improve things" to the point you switch to other brands, looking for something that works.

On tips? I thought my X shaft with sniper tip was the beans...then I got my new Josey with talisman tips. I may stick with talisman for a spell.

I recently puschsed an OB-1 shaft with a talisman tip that i really like. It holds chalk really well. It is the first non -triangle tip that I have thought was decent. Evan then I don't think I would pay a lot for one. The moori tips on the predator shafts I have hold up like steel but don't hold chalk well at all! It seems to me that dollar for dollar you can't ask more from a tip than you get from a triangle.
