Charlie Williams' headache

it is a moot point at this juncture. the seminoles have the money, the seminoles have the venue. and if CW were truely honest about this, he would relieve himself of all the headache and abuse,,, and defer to the seminoles anyway, because they offer a great package deal.

Charlie Williams' headache began when he created a men's union, appointed himself as president, created legally binding boilerplate Don King-like contracts, put a stranglehold on independent promoters, and banned Corey Deuel, Frankie Hernandez, Keith McCready, Troy Frank, and Earl Strickland from competing in any UPA events.

If I were the Seminoles, I wouldn't entertain anything Charlie Williams has to offer.

that is yet to be determined. but because the seminoles can offer up the money, something CW never had and thus lacked muscle,,,,they can force, and the player would say when, anything they please.

since the men need organization, they SHOULD make the men accountable,,,,something the men have never been required to do before.

and they can start with a DRESS CODE

Yes, that is definitely the biggest problem with men's professional billiards. Their clothes.

I'm not trying to start anything here because I really don't care that much but just for the sake of clarity, isn't the UPA contract just boilerplated from the Women's? This all came up quite a while ago and people were comparing both contracts and they said they were essentially the same. From what I've read here, it seems that the real problems are:
1. CW is a player and president of the UPA - not a good idea.
2. CW has issues with power.
3. The players are distrustful of anyone that might make any money from their efforts (they probably have every right to feel this way based on things that have happened in the past).
4. There are no big sponsors willing to cough up the $$ (this could change with the Seminoles' involvement).
5. I love pool and love to watch good competition by the best players but even I have to admit that there isn't much excitement there for the casual viewer (maybe this ring game idea will help solve that?).

Okay, I could go on and on. The point is, pool needs help, especially mens' pool!

Bruin70,

You have an opinion about everything and everyone, don't you? First you poke fun at Mike Massey's religion, now you have comments about Buddy Hall's rear.

Living up to your reputation of talking about people behind their backs (or in this case, his butt), ey?

:D LOL hahahahahahaha! That is definitely something that would give me nightmares! Anything that the tribe can do for the promotion of the sport in a positive light is greatly appreciated.

Peace,
